The Love That You Give
April 2nd 2009 10:08
I used to associate being old with having lived
And dying young meant never having the chance
Now I have seen the old die
With more regret than satisfaction
And the young die so suddenly
But having done so much
I wonder which is the better way to go
If there is such a thing as the better way
Looking at you, your frail frame and lined face
I feel so much love, so much admiration
And most of all, hope
The love that you give to so many people is extraordinary
I love to hear your stories about events in you life
Vignettes of an intricate biography
In my lifetime, whether it be over tomorrow or longer than yours
I know that I will always have hope
As long as I open my heart to others
As you have opened yours to me
And dying young meant never having the chance
Now I have seen the old die
With more regret than satisfaction
And the young die so suddenly
But having done so much
I wonder which is the better way to go
If there is such a thing as the better way
Looking at you, your frail frame and lined face
I feel so much love, so much admiration
And most of all, hope
The love that you give to so many people is extraordinary
I love to hear your stories about events in you life
Vignettes of an intricate biography
I know that I will always have hope
As long as I open my heart to others
As you have opened yours to me
