Pam's Poetry Pitch

September 10th 2006 07:14
Pam’s Poetry Pitch is the latest incarnation of Pamela Sidney’s tireless promotion of Melbourne & Australian Poetry activities. Her Buy-line reads:

“The Poetry Pitch brings to you a broad sweep of quality & radical links: Poetry Links, Alternative news, Opinion, Ecology Issues, Anti-War, Left & Right Politics plus Social Justice Sites. WANT to HEAR or READ some POETRY in MELBOURNE TONIGHT?”

Pam's Poetry Pitch

A quick browse of her long-running Melbourne Poetry Gig Guide shows that somewhere in Melbourne one can find a Poetry-related performance on any given night.

Melbourne Gig Guide

The site offers all that it promises, with links to the author’s well-researched topics of interest as well as the most comprehensive guide to Poetry Gigs I’ve ever seen.

Pam generously provides photocopied handouts of her annotated Gig Guide at all of the performances she attends. She regularly updates her information, both online & in print, spending countless hours of invaluable service to the Melbourne Arts Community.

In addition to promoting venues, the site gives details to all things poetry, be it radio, television, workshops, competitions, festivals, as well as links to other poetry specific sites.

Each listing is comprehensive, with details of dates, times, featured performers, MCs, contact details, street addresses, email addresses, cover charge, & other salient info.

Pam’s Poetry Pitch is a fabulous mine of information. Any reader can see that she puts her heart & soul into it & has embraced cyberspace for her own.

Good on you Pamela!

hey tom
nice

hey if you feel like promoting a screening at Loop next mon night that would be great. I am screening a film I made with Borderline Productions made on last years La Mama Poetica / 3 Generations of Poetry event which was a sold out event created by Jeltje for the Melbourne International Arts Festival. The film is dedicated to the memory and poetry of Lisa Bellear and includes footage of Steve Smart, Jennifer Harrison, Lisa Bellear, Angela Costi, Klare Lanson, Sean M Whelan, alicia sometimes and Jez M Spelman. We are charging at the door to pay for use of the avid suite in the editing process.

LOOP - 23 Meyers Place, Melbourne City
Monday September 18th, 7.30pm
$5 entry

best,
