Losing

overwhelmed, my mind floats
Above the world
Churning thoughts and frightened
Bad dreams come daily now
I try to think of the good
All that is kind and bright
I call out in frustration
I call out in desperation
My mind quiets
Down to the sound of a carnival
Everyone around me is so happy
Have they lost their minds?
