Fireflies

Look at the fireflies
Flash, beam, squint
They're there on the grass
Against the background
I won't blend in!
Look at me! And me!
Ages pass and the
Fireflies glow
Like lanterns at dusk
Slowly the sun sets
Takes its time- no rush
It grows dark
In only moments, though
They still shine- they blink
They illuminate
