A Lost Poem
March 27th 2009 14:21
Sitting under a tree,
In the cool of the shade,
I suddenly got an idea,
In my mind it was made.
It was sudden, very sudden,
The words just came rushing in,
I had to run to something to write with,
Dodging all my kin.
Unfortunately I tripped,
And of course fell flat on my face,
Darn it, darn it, darn it,
I think I've lost this race.
It was a race against time,
I really tried not to forget,
I wanted to remember the words,
But I haven't a good memory yet.
It would have been a poem,
A pretty good one I think,
And I couldn't help what happened next,
Right then I felt my heart sink.
In the cool of the shade,
I suddenly got an idea,
In my mind it was made.
It was sudden, very sudden,
The words just came rushing in,
I had to run to something to write with,
Dodging all my kin.
Unfortunately I tripped,
And of course fell flat on my face,
Darn it, darn it, darn it,
I think I've lost this race.
It was a race against time,
I really tried not to forget,
I wanted to remember the words,
But I haven't a good memory yet.
It would have been a poem,
A pretty good one I think,
And I couldn't help what happened next,
